Germany's COVID death toll surpasses 57,000

Germany recorded 5,608 new coronavirus cases over the past day, Report informs, citing the Robert Koch Institute.
Meanwhile, the deadly pathogen has claimed 175 lives nationwide.
According to the institute, the total number of infection cases in Germany has reached 2,221,971, and 57,120 COVID patients have died throughout the pandemic.
During the past week, the country saw 91 new infections per 100,000 people.
