British and European Union (EU) officials have been unable to agree on a free trade agreement since the Brexit deal.
According to Report, Michel Barnier, the EU's chief negotiator on Brexit, wrote about this on his Twitter page.
He said consultations on the agreement had been suspended and that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson would decide on the future of the talks.
Michel Barnier emphasized that an agreement's conditions are not met due to significant divergences on the level playing field, governance, and fisheries.
