Eight more Japanese prefectures introduce state of emergency due to coronavirus

The government of Japan has approved a decision to introduce the state of emergency due to coronavirus in eight more prefectures in different parts of the country, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga said, Report informs, citing TASS.
Hokkaido, Miyagi, Gifu, Aichi, Mie, Shiga, Okayama, and Hiroshima will come under the measure from Friday until September 12. The sources said that another four prefectures -- Kochi, Saga, Nagasaki, and Miyazaki -- would be newly added to the quasi-state of emergency.
Currently, the state of emergency is valid in 13 regions of Japan, including Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Okinawa. The measures will cover a total of 21 out of 47 prefectures.
