Ecuador: Mine collapse kills five

At least five people died in the wreckage at an illegal mine in Ecuador's northwestern province of Esmeraldas, El Norte newspaper says, referring to the National Emergency Situations Service (NESS).
Report informs, citing TASS, that among the dead are four adults and a young man.
According to the MFHX, rescuers arrived at the scene and rescued three people who were slightly injured under the rubble.
The crash occurred in a mine in the Los Axos region, which has intricate connections on Colombia's border. The miners were engaged in drilling without official permission. According to preliminary information, the incident occurred due to a violation of safety rules at work.
