Denmark reports its first case of Brazil COVID strain

Denmark has recorded its first case of P1, the Brazil variant of the coronavirus, Report informs, citing the Twitter post of Danish Health Minister Magnus Heunicke.
“The first case of the P1 variant has been found in Denmark. P1 was originally detected in Brazil and is one of those we have a special focus on. Intensive detection of infection has begun,” the minister tweeted.
The Brazilian strain was registered by experts from the Danish Technical University (DTU), which helps analyze coronavirus samples, and confirmed by the Statens Serum Institut (SSI). SSI is under the Danish Ministry of Health auspices and ensures preparedness against infectious diseases and biological threats as well as control of congenital disorders.
