China has strongly opposed efforts by the United Kingdom, France, and Germany to trigger the United Nations Security Council’s “snapback sanctions” mechanism against Iran over its nuclear program.
According to Report, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated that Beijing consistently advocates for a peaceful and diplomatic resolution to the Iranian nuclear issue.
According to Lin, the imposition of sanctions would undermine mutual trust, deepen divisions, and hinder diplomatic efforts aimed at restarting negotiations.
“At this critical moment, any actions by the Security Council should support dialogue toward a new agreement—not obstruct it,” the spokesperson emphasized.
