Belarus announces start of domestic COVID vaccine trials

Preclinical animal testing of the Belarusian coronavirus vaccine will begin soon, Anatoli Krasko, head of the biosafety laboratory of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center (RSPC) of Epidemiology and Microbiology of Belarus, told reporters, Report informs referring to TASS.
“In the near future we will approach the stage of animal immunization - it will take at least a month. It is planned that we will receive the prototype of the vaccine by the fall, and we will conduct clinical trials next year,” Krasko said, according to the Belarus Healthcare Ministry.
Director of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center Vladimir Gorbunov said that six laboratories of the center have joined the development of the Belarusian vaccine.
