Beirut blast damage surpasses $15 billion

The damage caused by the powerful explosion in Beirut on August 4 is evaluated at more than $ 15 billion, Lebanese President Michel Aoun said during a telephone conversation with King Philip VI of Spain.
Report says, citing TASS, The Spanish monarch voiced his condolences and solidarity to the Lebanese people and expressed readiness to provide the necessary assistance.
Insurance companies initially estimated the damage from the explosion in Beirut's port at $ 3 billion. The blast severely damaged about 4,000 buildings.
