Another African country reports infection with omicron strain

Zambia detected the omicron variant on December 3 from samples of individuals who tested positive for Covid-19 in the last week, Health Minister Sylvia Masebo said in a televised address on state-owned ZNBC TV, Report informs via Bloomberg.
Two of the three are males who are fully vaccinated and with a recent history of international travel.
Zambia became the seventh African state to confirm Omicron cases.
