Azerbaijan prohibits changing and copying of the IMEI number of phones.

According to Report, an amendment to the "Telecommunications" law is proposed in this regard.

According to the amendment, in connection with the use of cellular (mobile) services, mobile devices must be registered in the manner determined by the relevant executive authority. It is prohibited to change or copy the IMEI number of a mobile device in order to avoid the registration of a mobile device, as well as to provide telecommunication services to mobile devices (except for mobile devices whose IMEI numbers are on the white page) whose IMEI numbers are on the black page of the mobile device registration system by the mobile operator.
