Media forum to boost Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan ties, says ambassador

The 2nd Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Media Forum will contribute to strengthening the friendship, strategic partnership, and media development in both countries, said Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Bahrom Ashrafkhanov, during the forum in Baku, Report informs.

The diplomat highlighted that relations between the two nations are a vivid example of brotherhood, trust, and cooperation. He attributed the growing momentum in bilateral ties to the efforts of Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ilham Aliyev, who have opened the door to joint initiatives in politics, culture, education, and media.

"Media play a key role in this process. Modern outlets not only inform the public but also build trust, strengthen mutual understanding, and foster cultural connections between nations," Ashrafkhanov noted.

He recalled that the first media forum took place last year in Tashkent, serving as a platform for launching educational programs, media training, and journalist exchanges.

This year's forum, he said, focuses on digital transformation in the media sector, the adoption of new technologies, journalist training, and sharing best practices. Special attention is also given to countering disinformation and enhancing public trust in the media.

"I wish all participants fruitful discussions and successful implementation of joint projects," Ashrafkhanov concluded.
