11th Baku International Book Fair kicks off in Azerbaijani capital

The opening ceremony of the 11th Baku International Book Fair has taken place.
According to Report, the event was attended by Isa Habibbayli, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Polad Bulbuloglu, Chair of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis (Parliament) Culture Committee, Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva, deputy ministers of culture, MPs, other officials, literary figures, international guests, and media representatives.
Opening speeches emphasized the importance of holding the international fair on a regular basis and highlighted its significance as a cultural and scientific event for Azerbaijan.
Over 220 events are planned throughout the week-long fair, to be held across presentation zones, booths, and conference rooms.
The program includes masterclasses for children and adults, book presentations on inclusivity and other current topics, author meet-and-greets, conferences, symposiums, competitions, reading and music sessions, and collaboration platforms for stakeholders in the publishing industry.
Qatar is the guest of honor at this year's fair.
