Turkish president: Injustice is over - Azerbaijan returned its lands

Azerbaijan returned its lands, thereby, ending the 30-year period of injustice, says an appeal of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the participants of the 8th Global Baku Forum, read out by former Prime Minister of Turkey Binali Yildirim, Report informs.

In his address, the Turkish leader reminded that for almost 30 years Armenia had been holding 20% of the territories of Azerbaijan under occupation, as a result of which thousands of people lost their homes and many went missing.

Azerbaijan waited so long, and as a result, the injustice is over, and Azerbaijan returned its lands, Erdogan said.

He noted that Turkey has put forward an initiative to promote relations, including with Armenia, with which there have been no ties for many years, stressing the need to look to the future.

One of Turkey’s main tasks is to bring all the countries of the region to friendly relations, the Turkish leader said, adding that Turkey is making a special contribution to promoting peace.
