Continued military conflicts and ongoing global uncertainty could lead to further increases in construction costs and increase pressure on reconstruction projects, Farid Shafiyev, chairman of the Board of the Center for Analysis of International Relations, said at WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
According to him, Azerbaijan initially plans to return approximately 140,000 former residents to liberated territories, but inflationary pressure, demining costs, and supply chain issues are negatively impacting housing and infrastructure projects.
He noted that prices for construction materials continue to rise in Azerbaijan.
"The Russian-Ukrainian war also contributed to this increase, as Azerbaijan traditionally imports certain construction materials from these countries, particularly wood, iron, steel, and cement," Shafiyev added.
