The British Ambassador to Azerbaijan James Sharp expressed his condolences over the events of January 20, 1990, Report states, citing the diplomat's Twitter.
"When I started working in Azerbaijan in 2019, my first visit was to the Alley of Martyrs. This picture was taken at that time. Together with the staff of the British Embassy, we honor the memory of the martyrs of January 20 - a symbol of Azerbaijan's independence," the ambassador wrote.
2019-cu ildə Azərbaycanda fəaliyyətimə başlayanda ilk ziyarətim Şəhidlər Xiyabanına oldu. Bu şəkil də məhz o zaman çəkilib. Britaniya səfirliyinin əməkdaşları ilə birlikdə Azərbaycanın müstəqilliyinin nişanəsi olan 20 yanvar şəhidlərinin xatirəsini hörmətlə anırıq. #20yanvar pic.twitter.com/8booSsI51l
