25% of Azerbaijan's Aghdam district cleared of mines

Twenty-five percent of the territory of Azerbaijan's Aghdam district has been cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance, said Vugar Suleymanov, chairman of the board of the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), Report informs.
Vugar Suleymanov noted that over 16,000 hectares of land have been cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance in the district in recent years.
"According to the plan for this year, more than 10,000 hectares of land will be cleared of mines. Approximately 25 percent of the territory of the Aghdam district has already been cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance. Several projects have already been completed in the district," he said.
