Brazil has passed a law that prohibits pets from getting tattoos and piercings, Report says, referring to TASS.
The author of the document, MP Carlos Mink, said he was horrified by photographs of pets with tattoos or earrings in their ears. And animal rights activists have repeatedly asked to stop the arbitrariness of the owners of dogs and cats.
Veterinarians supported legislators. According to them, the tattoo harms a living being. It can cause allergies or tissue necrosis.
Violators of the new law will face a harsh acceptable equivalent of $ 26,000.
