WUF13 official: Integrated urban planning essential for housing provision

One of the strongest tools for advancing housing provision is integrated urban planning, Gulshan Rzayeva, Deputy National Coordinator of WUF13 and Deputy Chief of Staff of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan, said during the event under the theme Global Housing Crisis: What's the Plan? held within the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.

She emphasized that housing provision cannot be separated from transport, infrastructure, jobs, public services, and climate resilience.

"Cities that plan housing together with infrastructure and social services create stronger and more accessible communities. Another important opportunity lies in land management. When land is managed responsibly and its socio‑ecological functions are preserved, housing affordability becomes much easier to achieve," Rzayeva said.
