Uzbekistan to offer Azerbaijan cooperation in urban development

Uzbekistan plans to propose joint development, planning, design, and construction to Azerbaijan, Artem Kreskas, Head of the Department of the National Committee of Uzbekistan for Housing Market Development and Urbanization Processes, told Report on the sidelines of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).

According to him, during WUF13, the Uzbek side is ready to offer Azerbaijan a partnership in development, planning, design, and construction at the state level.

"Azerbaijan is also considering all these issues in a comprehensive manner. Our country has a National Committee for Sustainable Development and Urbanization of the Housing Market, which I represent. At this stage, we are implementing a system and policy focused on comprehensive macroanalytics, as well as promoting urban development activities and city master plans. This is the first potential vector of cooperation," Kreskas emphasized.

The head of the department also pointed to a second promising area related to the private sector. "Major development companies are represented here – SeaBreeze, PASHA Holding, and others. We plan to engage this segment as well, sharing practical experience in implementing development models and the results achieved. We will certainly make efforts to build partnerships in this area," he added.
