State Committee: Azerbaijan plans new green corridors in cities

New green corridors are planned in Azerbaijani cities, Shahnaz Badalova, Deputy Head of the Urban Planning and Spatial Development Department at the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan, stated at the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.
She emphasized that urban planning requires a multidisciplinary approach, where urbanists, architects, psychologists, transport specialists, and public health experts must work together in designing future cities.
According to her, even with high-quality master plans, their effectiveness depends on considering residents' daily behavior and ensuring accessible urban infrastructure, including safe pedestrian zones and green corridors.
Badalova cited the example of Ganja, where the new master plan envisions the development of green corridors to improve access to city parks and public spaces.
