Nearly 840,000 passengers used Baku Airport in August

In August 2025, Heydar Aliyev International Airport achieved a record by serving nearly 840,000 passengers, the airport told Report.
This figure represents the highest result ever recorded for the month of August. During this period, a total of 8,238 flights were operated.
During the summer season, the most popular destinations among passengers were Istanbul, Antalya, Izmir, Dubai, and Tbilisi. Among the 38 international airlines operating on these routes, Turkish Airlines, AJet, Fly Dubai, Air Arabia, and Wizz Air stood out with particularly high passenger traffic.
An increase in the number of transit passengers was also observed. In August of this year, 42,053 passengers transited through Heydar Aliyev International Airport, representing a 12.1% growth compared to the same period last year.
The number of passengers carried by the national carrier AZAL on the Baku–Nakhchivan–Baku route rose by 2% compared to August of the previous year, reaching 79,120. The number of flights on this route increased to 372 during the month.
It should be noted that Heydar Aliyev International Airport continues to ensure high-quality passenger services and flight safety, while further strengthening Azerbaijan"s position as one of the key transit hubs on the international air transport map.
