There must be a safe, sustainable system regarding the housing issue in the world, stated Gulshan Rzayeva, Deputy Head of the Apparatus of Azerbaijan's State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture and Deputy National Coordinator of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku, at the event titled "The Global Housing Crisis: What's the Plan?" organized within the framework of WUF13, Report informs.
According to her, the future of urban planning is being fundamentally shaped within the framework of the event: "Currently, the housing issue is a global crisis. There must be a safe, sustainable system in this regard. This is not only about housing, but also a challenge related to climate and human rights. Concrete decisions must be made in this regard, and then action must be taken."
"Without ensuring safe housing, it is impossible to create economic sustainability and protect the population from the ever-growing threats of climate change. The next decade requires us to move from merely acknowledging this problem to implementing its solution," Rzayeva added.
