Czech minister: Int'l co-op crucial in solving urban challenges

International cooperation and the exchange of best practices in solving urban problems are more important than ever, Zuzana Mrázová, Czech Minister of Regional Development, said during the ministerial roundtable held within the framework of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.
Mrázová expressed gratitude to UN‑Habitat and the Government of Azerbaijan for hosting this important event: "We believe that international cooperation and the exchange of good practices in addressing common urban challenges and accelerating the implementation of the New Urban Agenda are more vital today than ever before."
The minister underlined that since the adoption of the New Urban Agenda, the Czech Republic has remained fully committed to its implementation and considers it the main global framework for sustainable urban development.
"Our efforts have focused on building sustainable, inclusive, and resilient cities. At the national level, we have worked to strengthen the social and institutional dimensions of urban development, improve access to essential services, and ensure housing affordability," she said.
