Cameroon counts on the support of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) over the next decade to accelerate the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals at all levels, Report informs.
The corresponding statement was delivered on behalf of Cameroon's Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Célestine Ketcha Courtès, at a ministerial roundtable at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.
For its part, the government commits to continue implementing initiatives in inclusive urban planning, implementing reforms aimed at ensuring state-guaranteed access to land, and developing the industrialization of the affordable housing production chain using environmentally sustainable materials.
"We are also focused on implementing innovations in urban finance, intelligent management of sustainable mobility infrastructure, and solid waste management. Our efforts are aimed at strengthening innovation partnerships and creating an open data system for monitoring and evaluating urban indicators to develop a national model that promotes peace and prosperity for the people," reads the statement.
