Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan may sign cargo transport document

Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Kazakhstan may sign a document on cargo transportation via the Caspian Sea.

Alper Özel, CEO of the International Transporters Association (UND), told journalists, Report informs.

According to him, increasing vessel capacity in the Caspian Sea is very important as part of the Middle Corridor project.

"We have to turn the Caspian into a kind of 'sea highway'. Otherwise, cargo waiting around will benefit no one. We are well aware of Azerbaijan's efforts in this area. As UND, we are in the process of signing a memorandum of understanding with Albayrak Group, Kazakhstan Railways and AZCON Holding. After this document is signed, we will discuss issues related to the Caspian Sea. For us, the Caspian Sea is the most important part. Azerbaijan is the main actor here. Türkiye and Azerbaijan are the only bridge that will connect Europe and Central Asia. If we do this consciously, we will also bring great benefit to the Turkic world," he said.
