Anar Guliyev: WUF13 is a platform for action

The 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) is not just a conference, it is a platform for action, Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, said at a press conference dedicated to the opening ceremony of WUF13 held in Baku, according to Report.

"We intend to cooperate with UN-Habitat with the aim of preparing a joint informative operational guide for the next hosts of the World Urban Forums, based on the standards developed by the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company. One of the most important historical outcomes of WUF13 for us is the adoption of the ISO 20121 standard at the national level. This outcome reflects our commitment to ensuring that large-scale international events are organized not only successfully, but also responsibly and sustainably," he emphasized.

According to him, with the establishment of the Business and Innovation Hub, private sector representation has been expanded, which creates a platform for startups: "WUF13 is not just a conference, it is a platform for action. Our goal is clear: to ensure that this forum delivers practical outcomes and leaves a meaningful legacy for both Azerbaijan and the international urban development agenda."
