Azerbaijans industrial zones see over 63-fold surge in product output over past decade

Between 2015 and the first half of 2025, product output in Azerbaijan"s industrial zones skyrocketed from 271 million manats ($159.4 million) to 17.2 billion manats (just over $10.1 billion), marking a more than 63.5-fold increase, Elchin Kazimli, spokesperson for the Economic Zones Development Agency (EZDA) under the Ministry of Economy, told Report.

According to Kazimli, non-oil industrial products manufactured by the EZDA"s enterprises have been exported to more than 70 countries. These include destinations across Eastern and Western Europe, North and South America, Asia, the CIS, Türkiye, and other regions.

Kazimli noted that key export items include construction chemicals, steel, polymer pipes, lubricants, polymers, urea, cables, glass panels, ceramic tiles, tobacco products, yarns, electrodes, fish feed, wallpaper, various types of footwear, and other goods. "The first industrial production in Azerbaijan"s industrial zones began in 2015 at the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park. While output that year was measured in millions of manats, today it is measured in billions," he said.

He added that in the first half of this year, the agency exported products worth 583 million manats ($342.9 million)-22.2% more than in the same period of 2024. Non-oil industrial products accounted for 28.3% of this export volume.
