Azerbaijan increases urea export revenues by 15 times

In January 2022, Azerbaijan exported urea worth $ 14.6 million, up $13.6 million or 14.6 times from a year earlier, Report informs, citing the "Export Review" of the Center for Economic Reforms Analysis and Communication.
In 2021, Azerbaijan exported carbamide worth $ 118.5 million, which is $ 107.9 million or 11.2 times more than in 2020.
Nitrogen fertilizer is produced at the SOCAR Urea Plant in the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park. The plant was commissioned on January 16, 2019, and can produce 650,000-660,000 tons of urea per year using 435 million cubic meters of natural gas as raw material. 70% of production is intended for export.
