Chess: Candidates Tournament cut short halfway

The Candidates Tournament in chess hosted by Russia's Yekaterinburg has been cut short.
Report informs that the step follows the decision of the Russian authorities to suspend air communication with other countries.
The tournament will restart from the 8th round, with a resumption date yet to be set.
By the results of seven rounds, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave of France shares second place with Russia's Ian Nepomnichtchi, each having 4 points. Maxime Vachier-Lagrave replaced Azerbaijan's Teymur Rajabov, who refused to join the tournament due to the pandemic.
Starting March 27, Russia will suspend all international flights, except for those designed to fly back its citizens.
