Azerbaijan and Albania to sign memo on sports cooperation

Azerbaijan and Albania are preparing to sign a memorandum aimed at expanding bilateral sports cooperation, Report informs citing the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Azerbaijan.
The initiative was discussed during a meeting in Baku between Azerbaijani NOC officials and Albanian sports representatives.
The meeting was attended by NOC Vice President Chingiz Huseynzada, President of the Albanian NOC Fidel Ylli, President of the Albanian Gymnastics Federation Leonard Lulai, President of the European Weightlifting Federation Astrit Hasani, Head of the NOC International Relations Department Anar Baghirov, and Head of Marketing Sakina Valiyeva.
Huseynzada shared detailed insights into Azerbaijan’s achievements and progress in sports development.
Fidel Ylli stated that the main purpose of his visit was to explore new opportunities for cooperation with the Azerbaijani NOC and national sports federations.
Astrit Hasani added that Azerbaijani Weightlifting Federation Vice President Firidovsi Umudov has been nominated as an advisor to the International Weightlifting Federation, while Sabina Rzayeva has been put forward for the organization’s Gender Equality Commission.
Huseynzada emphasized the importance of addressing key topics that will be reflected in the upcoming memorandum.
