Bodies of Azerbaijanis killed in Yekaterinburg returned to their homeland

The bodies of two Azerbaijanis killed in Yekaterinburg have been delivered to Azerbaijan by plane, Report informs.

The plane landed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport at 20:30 (GMT+4).

The bodies of the brothers were kept in the morgue of the Yekaterinburg Forensic Medical Examination Bureau.

The bodies of brothers Huseyn and Ziyaddin Safarov, killed on June 27 in a Russian FSB raid in Yekaterinburg, have been handed over to their family members, Report informs.

Their bodies were kept in the morgue of the Yekaterinburg Bureau of Forensic Medicine.

The bodies are expected to be delivered to Azerbaijan at 08:30 Baku time (GMT+4).

On the morning of June 27, the Russian Federal Security Service raided houses where Azerbaijanis lived in Yekaterinburg. During the raid, two Azerbaijanis were killed and several others were detained. The murdered Azerbaijanis are the brothers of the well-known journalist Seyfaddin Huseynli.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs also released a statement on June 28 regarding the attacks on Azerbaijanis by the Russian Federal Security Service in Yekaterinburg.

In addition, the Russian chargé d'affaires was summoned to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the incident in Yekaterinburg, and a strong protest was expressed.
