Vusal Khalilov: ICPC world finals teach engineers fundamental knowledge

The 49th ICPC International Collegiate Programming Contest world finals provide significant help in teaching fundamental knowledge essential for the development of engineers, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), Vusal Khalilov, told journalists, Report informs.

According to Khalilov, one of the most important aspects of this competition's world finals is that this contest provides serious assistance in teaching fundamental knowledge essential for the development of engineers – information related to algorithms and data structures:

"Also, one of the distinguishing features of the finals is that the competition is team-based. Since several engineers work together, it also teaches teamwork. Therefore, these knowledge and skills are of great help later in corporate or other professional life."

The official noted that this competition encourages not to shy away from the most difficult problems and to solve them: "That's why, I believe it makes a great contribution to the development of young people. I hope that participating in this competition will be a great example for our youth."
