Azerbaijan reports sharp decline in cyber threats detected on AzStateNet

In January–April 2026, more than 55.1 million malicious links were blocked on the AzStateNet network, marking a 69.5% decrease compared to the same period last year.

According to Report, citing the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security of Azerbaijan, a total of 55,105,000 malicious redirects were blocked during the reporting period.

In addition, 1,572,700 malicious electronic documents were neutralized using a centralized antivirus system installed on end-user devices.

A further 43,594 infected electronic documents were blocked through the Sandbox protection system.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of blocked malicious files decreased by 70% and 21% respectively.

According to the agency, throughout 2025, AzStateNet blocked 449.39 million malicious links, over 26.5 million infected files via antivirus systems, and 96,794 malicious documents through the Sandbox system.
