WHO says Indian strain of COVID-19 is one of most dangerous

The World Health Organization (WHO) has concluded that the Indian strain of coronavirus is one of its most dangerous mutations, Report informs, citing Melita Vujnovic, the WHO representative in Russia.
She said that according to preliminary data from India, this variant of the coronavirus has a higher human-to-human infection rate than other mutation that are also circulating in the country. There are several strains of COVID-19 in India, according to the WHO spokesperson.
Vujnovic noted that the results of a study on the Indian strain will be published in the coming weeks. She added that WHO will continue to monitor each case of infection separately.
