"Within a few weeks, the Omicron strain displaced other variants. Today, this version has become more common," said Tayyar Eyvazov, an infectious disease specialist at the Ministry of Health, Report informs.
According to him, it does not matter what strain the patients contract:
"Because over 90% of infected people have Omicron, it doesn't matter what type of virus they get. The majority of active patients are due to the number of people in the outpatient regime. The situation in hospitals is stable."
