Number of severe COVID patients in South Korea reaches record high

The number of severe and critical coronavirus patients in the Republic of Korea has reached 549 - the highest figure since the outbreak of the pandemic, Report informs, citing TASS.
It is believed that this can lead to a shortage of hospital beds.
Yesterday, the country registered 2,698 new cases. About 90% of people with severe illness are over 60 years old.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 420,950 people have contracted COVID-19 in the country. Yesterday, 30 people died due to the virus.
