Azerbaijan receives status of country free of bird, animal diseases

Azerbaijan has been declared free of highly pathogenic avian influenza, African swine fever, peste des petits ruminants, and other similar diseases, Zakiya Mustafayeva, deputy chairperson of Azerbaijan's Food Safety Agency (FSA), said at the Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2025) in Baku, Report informs.
She noted that Azerbaijan is striving to implement a food safety system that meets international standards.
"Achieving disease-free status is the result of comprehensive measures in this area. These steps have created new opportunities for the export of animals and animal products," Mustafayeva added.
