Vedomosti names Azerbaijani President politician of year

The famous Russian publication Vedomosti has declared the results of its annual special project on the person of the year in six nominations.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has been elected "Politician of the Year" by readers.

The publication writes: "Ilham Aliyev can rightly be called the only leader whose army won a convincing military victory in 2020, and a real triumph for the region."

The list of politicians of the year also includes Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and US presidential winner Joseph Biden.
