UN envoy: Violence against women increased during pandemic

At least one in three women in the world experiences sexual and other kinds of abuse. Violence against women increased during the pandemic, Acting Resident Representative at the UN Azerbaijan Office Charu Bist said at the 1st National Conference of First Aid Parties to Combat Gender-Based Violence, Report informs.
The UN official stressed that efforts must be united to overcome this crisis.
According to him, the UN has done its best in this regard.
