Prosecutor General's Offices of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan ink cooperation program

Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev and his delegation made an official visit to Uzbekistan on September 24, Report informs, citing the Prosecutor General's Office.
First, a bilateral meeting was held at the Prosecutor General's Office of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, Uzbekistan's Prosecutor General Nigmatilla Yuldashev expressed satisfaction with the continuously developing partnership relations between the two countries in all areas, including the high-level cooperation between the prosecution authorities. He noted the effectiveness of mutual activities both at bilateral and multilateral levels, within the framework of international organizations, and expressed confidence that the mutual relations between the prosecution authorities of the two states would continue successfully.
Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev thanked his counterpart for the hospitality and warm reception, noting that Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan relations, founded by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by his worthy successor President Ilham Aliyev, have developed in political, economic, cultural and other fields. He mentioned that the strategic projects implemented after the "Treaty on Allied Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan" signed in Tashkent on August 23, 2024, as a manifestation of the political will of the heads of state of both countries, will bring the countries closer together and serve the welfare of the peoples.
Kamran Aliyev also specifically emphasized the support provided by the state of Uzbekistan for the extensive reconstruction and restoration work in Karabakh after the historic victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, noting the opening of the Mirza Ulugbek Secondary School No. 1 constructed on August 23, 2023, the opening of the new building of the Uzbekistan embassy in Baku on July 2 of this year with the participation of both heads of state, and the laying of the foundation of "Uzbekistan" park on the same date by the heads of state.
During the meeting, the Prosecutors General signed the "Cooperation Program for 2026-2027 between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan" with the aim of further intensifying existing sectoral relations.
The program envisages the parties' participation in a seminar on "Mechanisms for the Return of Assets Obtained through Criminal Means from Abroad," the annual conference of the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on personnel training and qualification enhancement for prosecution authorities, as well as organizing a seminar on "Prosecutor's Participation in Court Proceedings" and a round table on "Digitalization of the Activities of Prosecution Authorities."
Additionally, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev participated in the 4th meeting of the Council of Prosecutors General of the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States on September 25.
