MP: Ukraine highly value Azerbaijan's friendship

Ukraine and Azerbaijan, along with their peoples, have shared bonds of friendship for centuries, with many commonalities even in modern history, Oleksiy Goncharenko, a member of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada, told Report.

Speaking on the occasion of the 108th anniversary of Azerbaijan's independence, Goncharenko emphasized that Ukraine has always supported Azerbaijan's territorial integrity:

"Azerbaijan once had occupied territories, and today we do. We know that Azerbaijan supports our territorial integrity. Overall, I believe our countries are of strategic importance."

The MP highlighted that Azerbaijan and Ukraine complement each other well in energy, agriculture, transport, and in the strategically significant Black Sea region.

"We greatly value Azerbaijan's friendship and support. We very much hope that our strategic partnership will only grow stronger," he added.
