Mohammad Rahman: CICA Think Tanks Forum should turn regional diversity into opportunity

The Forum of Think Tanks of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) should transform regional diversity into opportunities,  Mohammad Ashik Rahman, Senior Research Fellow at the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies, said during the 13th session of the CICA Think Tanks Forum in Baku.

Rahman noted that CICA is a unique regional organization, bringing together countries with broad political, economic, and social diversity.

"Many see this as a challenge, but I believe CICA"s task is to turn this challenge into an opportunity," he said.

He emphasized that alongside ongoing conflicts in Asia, new non-traditional security threats continue to emerge. In this context, Rahman believes CICA should aim to become a well-structured and resource-equipped organization, capable of fulfilling its objectives and contributing to the development of the regional security architecture.
