Israeli Embassy: Grandfather of soldier killed in battles with Hamas - martyr of Karabakh war

Vahid Azizov, the grandfather of Azerbaijani soldier Lior Azizov, who was killed in the battles with Hamas, was martyred in the First Karabakh War, Report informs, citing the Embassy of Israel in Azerbaijan.

"As the Embassy of Israel in Azerbaijan, we are deeply saddened by the death of 20-year-old sergeant Lior Azizov of Azerbaijani origin during military operations against Hamas on October 7. He was a fighter of the Golani brigade. Lior's father, Timur, was a victim of a terrorist attack in Israel in 2005 and died of physical and mental injuries 5 years later. His grandfather Vahid Azizov died heroically during the First Karabakh War in 1992 and was buried in the Alley of Martyrs," the Embassy said on X.
