Azerbaijan demonstrates a high interest in the development of the space industry, the Executive Director of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), Christian Feichtinger, told journalists on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Report informs.
"Azerbaijan is quite active in the space industry, and in my opinion, this was largely made possible thanks to the hosting of the International Astronautical Congress in Baku in 2023," Feichtinger noted.
He emphasized that the IAF continues close cooperation with Azerbaijan with the aim of further integrating the country into the global space community.
"We hope that in the future we will be able to return to Baku again to integrate Azerbaijan even more deeply into the global space community," Feichtinger said.
He also noted that Azerbaijan shows great activity in engaging young people in the space sector.
"Young people are beginning to take an interest in space, and this is extremely important for us. We highly appreciate Azerbaijan's efforts in this direction. Speaking of specific projects or initiatives, an academy has been established in Azerbaijan that attracts young people and develops interest in STEM education. Students actively present their work to the international space community," he stated.
According to him, this is an important step for integration into the global space community and strengthening the country's position in the industry.
