Azerbaijan is awaiting constitutional changes in Armenia to eliminate territorial claims before signing a peace agreement, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov told a special Cabinet meeting focused on President Ilham Aliyev’s recent visit to Washington, Report informs.
He also emphasized that the Joint Declaration signed in Washington specifically highlights the importance of unimpeded access between mainland Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan region—an integral part of the country.
“For this purpose, the Zangazur Corridor (Trump Route), to be developed through Armenian territory, will ensure Azerbaijan’s internal connectivity and promote regional economic integration,” Bayramov said.
He added that the project will also expand opportunities for regional trade and transportation.
