Event marking Azerbaijan's Independence Day held in Bucharest

An event dedicated to Azerbaijan's Independence Day was held in Bucharest, said the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Romania, Report informs.

The ceremony was attended by Romanian state officials, government representatives, deputies and senators, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps, science, culture and media, representatives of the Turkic and Tatar communities, and the Azerbaijani diaspora.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Romania Gudsi Osmanov opened the event in Romanian and spoke about the historical significance of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the stages of the restoration of independence at the end of the 20th century, and the role of national leader Heydar Aliyev in strengthening statehood. He also highlighted the country's development under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and the growing role of Azerbaijan as an energy partner of Europe.

In the foyer, participants of the ceremony were given the opportunity to view a photo exhibition reflecting the restoration and construction work in the territories liberated from occupation, the mine problem, the development of our country and its tourism potential, as well as dedicated to the declaration of 2026 as the "Year of Urban Planning and Architecture" in Azerbaijan and Romanian-Azerbaijani relations.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, participants were offered dishes of Azerbaijani national cuisine.
