International actors must fill gaps in global governance, according to Wang Zhen, Deputy Director of China"s Institute for International Relation Studies, Report informs.
He made the remark while speaking on "Institutionalization of CICA amid geopolitical changes: dynamics and perspectives" on the second day of the 13th Meeting of the CICA Think Tank Forum.
"After World War II, many wars and changes have taken place. Western countries are developing rapidly. Such development will have its say in global structures. Therefore, international actors must fill the gaps in global governance," he added.
The official highlighted that transformation also creates new needs within the CICA: "There are many international organizations. Their reasons for creation are different. The CICA, however, was formed on the basis of consensus. This is a very important issue because it shows that there is a unanimous decision. The driving force is challenges. We must solve difficulties together. The CICA has enormous potential to fill gaps. One way to fill gaps is to increase institutional efficiency."
