Azerbaijanis living in Turkey to have legal status

Work will continue to determine the legal status of Azerbaijani citizens residing in Turkey and Turkish citizens living in Azerbaijan, Report informs.
In 2020-2021, two countries are planning to formalize the legal status of Azerbaijani citizens, who moved to Turkey in 1990-2000 due to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and currently has no legal status, including no medical or social insurance, and can not benefit from education, notary, etc.
Besides, work will be done with Azerbaijan to address these individuals' social and legal problems.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs department from the Turkish side and the State Committee on Work with Diaspora from the Azerbaijani side will work in this direction.
