Azerbaijan, Sudan discuss expanding bilateral cooperation

Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Sudan's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mohieddin Salem Ahmed Ibrahim during his visit to Azerbaijan, Report informs.
The Ministers discussed the current agenda of Azerbaijan–Sudan relations, including prospects for cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian, educational, energy, agriculture and investment fields.
The sides underlined the importance of intensified political dialogue, reciprocal visits and consultations between the foreign ministries in strengthening bilateral ties.
Cooperation and mutual support within international organizations, particularly the UN, OIC and NAM, were also emphasized.
Minister Bayramov briefed the Sudanese side on Azerbaijan's large-scale reconstruction and demining efforts in the post-conflict period, as well as regional connectivity and transport initiatives.
Sudan expressed interest in Azerbaijan's experience in public administration, ASAN service, digital development and infrastructure building, while also expressing appreciation for educational scholarships allocated to Sudanese students.
As part of the visit, an Agreement on Mutual Visa Exemption for Holders of Diplomatic Passports between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Sudan was signed.
