Azerbaijan's new ambassador has not yet left for Afghanistan, says MFA

Currently, there are no Azerbaijani civilians in Afghanistan, Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry has said.
As is known, by order of the President of Azerbaijan dated July 28, 2021, Ilham Mammadov was appointed Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, that the Ambassador has not yet left for Afghanistan after his appointment.
"So, there are currently no Azerbaijani civilians in this country. Our peacekeepers continue their activities," the ministry said in a statement.
